Dlair Obaid Ramadan – Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering
Dr. Dlair Obaid Ramadan is an accomplished Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Erbil Polytechnic University (EPU), Kurdistan, Iraq, with 15 years of teaching and research experience. He holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield, UK (2016) and specializes in Tribology, Wear, Friction, Lubrication, Ultrasonic Reflection, Metal Cutting, and Fault Detection.

Dr. Ramadan has extensive research experience, having worked at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in the UK and the Tribology and System Dynamics Laboratory (LTDS) in France. His PhD research focused on ultrasonic reflection techniques for measuring contact conditions at the tool-chip interface, utilizing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.

In academia, he has supervised multiple master's and PhD students, contributed to numerous thesis examinations, and actively participated in international conferences, earning distinctions such as Chairing a conference in Italy and securing third prize at a UK-based conference.

As the Head of the Mechanical and Energy Engineering Department, Dr. Ramadan is dedicated to educational development and research innovation. His contributions include publishing in highly reputed and local journals, developing curricula, and conducting faculty and student surveys to enhance the department’s growth.
